Waste Gas Treatment & Handling

As the industry has matured toward larger industry scale operations, treatment of waste gas for minimization of emission and environmental impact has become the standard. With the burden of added capital equipment and operating costs to accomodate waste gas abatement also comes the opportunity to utilize energy from these processes to offset energy consumed in the conversion of Carbon Fiber.

Where previously gases from the conversion equipment were directly discharged to the atmosphere, they are now routed to waste gas abatement, which can be an incinerator, catalytic cracker or regenerative thermal oxidizer. Each of these technologies offers its own cost and capital and operating cost advantages.
